Online Referral
What is the Nurturing Program ?
The Nurturing Program is the home visiting component of The Child
Abuse Prevention Project (CAPP) which is located at the University of
Florida Department of Pediatrics. It is designed for parents
considered to be at risk for abusing or neglecting their children. Our
home visitors, who are called Parent Educators, assist the families
with parent education and support. We also do extensive case
management. Our program provides once a week visits in the home, pre
and post testing, a family assessment and a summary of services upon
completion of the program.
Families served:
The Nurturing Program serves families considered high risk by
community standards but are low risk in the Child Protective System.
We take referrals from community agencies including the health
department, schools, hospitals, Children Medical Services, and doctors
offices. We also take referrals from the Department of Children and
Families for low risk families.
